If you are looking to cut healthcare costs, here is yet another great benefit from MCS Medical Cost Sharing Inc. We call this our Vanishing Personal Responsibility or VPR for short. This is an exclusive benefit provided by MCS for it’s Gold, Silver, Bronze and Platinum plan members. Here is how it works. In simple language we will reduce your personal responsibility, PR, (like a deductible in traditional insurance) cost by $100 dollars for each year you are a member at M.C.S.
At MCS we are setting the standards for the Industry, raising the bar simply isn’t good enough. As always we make the job of finding creative ways to cut healthcare costs for our members as Simple, Easy, and Affordable as possible.
Our programs are real and they are tangible, they reflect the Market TODAY, and the changes that are taking place in our lives TODAY. We all understand traditional insurance has changed, and that the market place has changed. We simply cannot continue to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result. VPR follows that mindset, and again without additional cost to you. This is how health insurance should have always worked.
HERE IS HOW IT WORKS
To be a member of MCS every month you pay a monthly payment. If this was health insurance, this monthly payment would be called a “monthly premium”. Since we are not an insurance company, the correct terminology for this monthly payment is Monthly Contribution. For all healthcare plans there is also an amount that must be paid by each member before the health care company will start paying the medical claims. If this was insurance, this amount that you would need to pay out of your pocket before the insurance would start covering your health care benefits is called the deductible. For a medical cost sharing organization, this is called a “personal responsibility”.
So, for every continuous year that stay a member, we will reduce your personal responsibility by $100. Not only is that for every plan we offer, it is for every single year for every paid family member. Until you zero out your PR.
EXAMPLE of How to Cut Healthcare Costs with VPR
After 5 years your PR (personal responsibility) would go from $1000 dollars to $500 dollars and in the 10th year, you will zero out and no longer have a PR. Your plan drops all PR and all payments allocate towards first dollar of healthcare expense.
Vanishing Personal Responsibility Example 1 John Jones – Single Member
In this example, John is a single member and has chosen Plan A Gold. The first year that John is a member, his personal responsibility (like a deductible if this was health insurance) is $1000.00 After he has been a member for 1 year, his personal responsibility is reduced to $900.00. This personal responsibility is reduced whether or not John has made a claim or not. After John has been a member for 2 continuous years, his personal responsibility is reduced to $800.00 This pattern will continue until after being a member for 10 continuous years, John’s personal responsibility is reduced to ZERO 🙂 !!
Vanishing Personal Responsibility Example 2: Jim Smith – Family Of 4
In this example, Jim is married to Sue and they have 2 kids under the age of 18, Sam and Sally. Jim has chosen Plan A Gold “Family” with a $1000 yearly personal responsibility per person. Sue and the two kids, Sam and Sally, are in the Plan A Gold Family also. So, in this example, after one continuous year of membership, Jim’s personal responsibility will be reduced by $100.00 to $900.00 Sue’s personal responsibility will be reduced by $100.00 to $900.00. Each of the kids, Sam and Sally, have a personal responsibility of $1000.00. Each year the kids are continuously enrolled, their yearly personal responsibility is reduced by $100.00 also.
